Melissa Rauch Shares Mortifying Moment from ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Set
Melissa Rauch, known for playing Bernadette Rostenkowski on The Big Bang Theory, recently opened up about a hilariously embarrassing incident during her first season.
While filming a hotel room scene, Rauch pulled the covers up high and rubbed her hands together to warm them — a simple gesture she compared to a Boy Scout trying to start a fire.
However, the motion looked awkward on camera, prompting the director and producer to warn her it appeared as though she was “having way too much fun under the covers.”
To her horror, even a young audience member commented that it looked strange, while his father thought it seemed inappropriate.
Rauch later joked about the incident with her mother, who worried it might harm her career.
Despite the awkward moment, Bernadette quickly became a fan favorite, and Rauch played the character until the series finale in 2019. Reflecting on her time on the show, she cherishes the memories and success of being part of one of television’s most beloved sitcoms.
