Disc Golfer Walks Off Course Over Transgender Competition
Professional disc golfer Abigail Wilson made headlines at the MVP Music City Open in Nashville when she walked off the course after learning she would compete against transgender athlete Natalie Ryan.
Before leaving, Wilson stepped up to the tee, pretended to throw, then packed up her disc, stating she was taking a stand for fairness in women’s sports. Tournament officials confirmed she did not break any rules and would face no penalties.
Wilson later explained on Instagram that she knew the decision could affect her career but felt compelled to speak out. The incident has sparked national debate on fairness and inclusion in women’s sports, while Ryan met all eligibility requirements and did not comment publicly.
