Trans “preacher” says people need to change their understanding of scripture in regards to LGBTQ

“Mainstream denominations are changing their understanding of Scripture with regards to LGBTQ inclusion and affirmation.

In the 1960s and 70s, much of the church changed its understanding of Scripture with regards to civil rights and racial equality. With the Civil War, the Christian church as a whole changed their understanding of Scripture with regards to slavery.

When the Samaritan woman asked Jesus to heal her daughter, Jesus changed his understanding of Scripture and as a result changed the direction of his ministry.”

“The very reason that Jesus came to us in human form and died on the cross, was to change our understanding of Scripture. While it may not be possible for a person to see Scripture through a black lens, we need to try. While it may not be possible for a Christian to see Scripture through a Jewish or Muslim eyes lens, we can try. While it might not be possible for a person living in a comfortably in a home to see Scripture through the lens of someone who is cold and hungry, living on the streets, we need to try. While it may not be completely possible for a straight person to read Scripture through a queer lens, we need to try.”
