Heartbreaking clip shows ICE agents detain mom in Utah airport as as she pleads: ‘I have my papers!’
Video shows the dramatic moment a woman was detained by plainclothes Homeland Security and Border Patrol agents at Salt Lake City International Airport.
According to ICE, Marta Brizeyda Renderos Leiva, 39, entered the U.S. from El Salvador in 2007. She was reportedly given a final “removal in absentia” on Feb. 19, 2020.
She was arrested during a targeted enforcement operation at Salt Lake City International Airport on Wednesday, near the baggage claim area. She will be in ICE custody pending her removal to El Salvador, reports local news outlet 2News.
Video of the arrest, posted to X, shows two plainclothes officers flanking the woman on both sides, as she struggles in their grip. Leiva shouts in anguish, “Noo”
“I have my papers!” she cries out. “Help me please, my papers!”
Other travelers watch as she is taken through the airport.
One bystander yells out, “She’s a human being!”
